Our chapter offers an IMC/VMC Club for our members to network and share flying knowledge and experience. Each month we cover an IFR and a VFR topic.
We meet the 2nd Wednesday of every month.
The meetings use real-world scenarios to engage members, and allow a free exchange of information that improves awareness and skills. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency.
The IMC/VMC Club monthly program is partially developed by the National EAA organization. The meetings start with VFR and IFR questions of the month provided by EAA National. We discuss as a group the answers to these questions. We then watch real-world VFR and IFR scenarios provided by EAA National and discuss as a group how you would handle such situations. We then will feature a video covering a pertinent aviation topic.
The meetings usually qualify for Wings credit, an FAA proficiency program that satisfies bi-annual flight reviews. If interested, set up an account at www.faasafety.gov. For more information, go to the Wings Program User's Guide.
