Inaugurated in 1992, EAA Young Eagles
is a program designed to introduce young people, ages 8 - 17, to aviation by providing a FREE flight in a general aviation airplane.
The flight will broaden their perspectives on the world and life in general and, perhaps, kindle an interest in aviation. To date, the number of
Young Eagles flown is approaching the 2 milllion mark.
Although Chapter 72 was an active participant in the program with over 3,000 Young Eagles flown, the chapter has reluctantly
suspended Young Eagle rallies due to recent policy changes made by EAA national headquarters.
Chapter members may still fly Young Eagles as individuals as long as they comply with the new policy.
