EAA Chapter 72
      from the desk of Sandy

This month we're holding an annual chapter business meeting. You may be asking why? Well, it's because I and the other board members need some direcition from you, the members. What do we need:

  • Nominating committee - 2 or 3 members to contact other members to stand for election to the board
  • Programs - we have a Dr Quay Snyder and a DAR coming up in Oct/Nov then our Holiday Banquet in Dec. What do you want for programs in 2012?
  • Schedule - Do we want to schedule our winter meetings on Saturdays?
  • We're going back to presenting awards at the Holiday Banquet. Who would you like to nominate for Member of the Year, Pete Gonzalez Spirit of EAA Chapter 72, Young Eagle Advocate and Lifetime Achievement awards?

Our meeting will start with finalizing the logistics for the In Their Honor Air Show. You still have time to volunteer to work at the Stars and Stripes Cafe or provide Ground Support. I''ll be picking up passes and show layout from the O'Donnell's on Tuesday. I'd like to plan on us meeting at MLAA Hangar by 7:00 AM on Saturday /Sundy so we can car pool to the event. I'll have maps.

We will set up at Butts Field on Friday, 9/23, at 2:00PM. We'll be setting up the canopy and arranging the cook area.

We need someone with clearance to pickup a canopy at Peterson Outdoor Rec on Friday and return on Monday morning after the show. It's all paid for, you just need to pick it up, deliver it to Butts Field on Friday, help set up and then return it Monday morning.

Pueblo Museum is holding a Family Day at the airport on Saturday, October 1st. They like to offer some Young Eagle Flights. How about we schedule this as our October Fly-out and give some rides.

In case you haven't received or picked up your copy of the September 2011 New Falcon Herald, read the article "Flying Free". Brad, thanks for doing the interview and flight for the reporter.
