EAA Chapter 72 is the Colorado Springs chapter of the Experimental
Aircraft Association (EAA), a national organization of people who have a passion for all aspects of aviation. Our membership includes
aircraft builders, pilots, and those who just like airplanes. Chapter 72 meets monthly at Meadowlake Airport (KFLY). The airport is
located 14nm NE of Colorado Springs on US Highway 24. Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held at the Meadow Lake Airport Association
(MLAA) Hangar, 13550 Piper Lane. (Map)
Joining EAA Chapter 72 - To become a member of EAA Chapter 72, you must be a member of the EAA national organization.

Program: Steve Miller - "I'm a PILOT, what do I care about satellites?
Today’s world of electronics and complex information systems are creeping into our beloved cockpits. Having a grasp on how some of
these systems work and how they relate to pilots is important to safe air travel. This discussion will focus on GPS, how it works,
what we as pilots need to know to keep ourselves out of trouble and how to help keep the system working.
Also included, will be an explanation of ADS-B technology, the new fangled (and expensive) 406 MHz transponders and why
they are both important in our aviation futures.

A cookout is always planned in conjunction with the YE Rally. Everyone, please plan to stay for lunch. For non-volunteers, a donation of $5 per meal is appreciated.
